Creek volunteers are dedicated to preserving Joe’s Creek running through Northaven and Cox Lane Parks and near residents’ homes. Their mission is to retain the creek’s natural habitat condition, promote nature preservation, and ensure the creek is cleaned regularly. They walk the creek weekly to monitor its condition and promote various cleanup projects, research soil erosion detection/recovery ideas, and share environmental concerns that impact the creek’s inhabitants. In the spring and fall, volunteers gather at the park on It’s My Park Day to clean up debris and litter and paint playground equipment as needed. Look for the “Up and Down the Creek” article in the monthly newsletter.
Everyone with an interest in preserving Joe’s Creek is welcome.
